Introduction
The Ranger is an excellent survivalist. With a keen eye and quick hands, the Ranger tracks their enemies, sets traps and ambushes unsuspecting prey.
The Ranger’s playstyle is a methodical one. Thinking ahead on sight lines, trap placement, and rest spots will ensure you remain the hunter, not the prey. The different bows, crossbows, pavise, and spear allow for varying playstyles- so find the one that suits you!
‘An Astute Hunter’ Always on target
Pros
- Weak in melee fights, especially if outnumbered.
- Equip a spear for the extra range it provides
- Can easily get cornered in PvE or PvP if not thoughtful of positioning
Cons
- Low base move, action, and attack speed
- Dependent on healing consumables/spells due to large health pools
Playstyles
Solo
Solo Rangers must think ahead if they want to be successful. Proper utilization of traps and space, with some decent aim, will ensure survival in PvP. PvE can get difficult if you’re outnumbered. Make sure you have an escape plan!
Group
Rangers shine in groups as they bring a surprising amount of utility with their ranged pressure, tracking, and quick campfires. Their traps also allow them to control group fights extremely well; and if given the space, they can mop up a team of 3 quite easily.

Perks
You can select 1 perk and an additional perk every 5 character levels. (4 Perks Max)
Crossbow Mastery Increases physical damage bonus by 5% when using crossbow, increases reload speed by 50% and movement speed by 50% when reloading.- Enhanced Hearing Can hear enemy footstep sounds from farther away.
- Kinesthesia When moving with the bowstring drawn, movement speed increases by 10%.
- Nimble Hands When using a bow, change your default shooting animation so it shoots 15% faster.
- Ranged Weapons Expert Increases physical attack power by 5% when attacking with a ranged weapon.
- Sharpshooter Headshot damage increases by 15% when attacking with a long-range weapon.
- Spear Proficiency Spear can be used. When attacking with a spear, gain 10 physical strength.
- Tracking HP increased by 10%.
- Trap Expert Installation time decreases dramatically when installing trap type items.

You may select 2 of the following skills:
- Field Ration Forage food and recover 25 HP. (3 stacks, non replenishable) 24s cooldown
- Multishot When attacking with a bow-type weapon, fire 5 arrows at a horizontal angle at the same time. Damages for the five arrows are 50%, 75%, 100%, 75%, 50%, respectively. Total of 350% damage if all arrow hit the target. 35s cooldown
- Quick Fire When attacking using a bow-type weapon, Increases action speed by 50% for 8 seconds. 24s cooldown
- Quickshot Hold three arrows in your shooting hand and fire them quickly in succession in a single action. 18s cooldown
- True Shot Projectile’s flight speed is greatly increased for 6 seconds. In addition, physical attack power is increased by 5%. 18s cooldown

This build focuses on the hard hitting longbow to do the heavy lifting. You’ll throw an immense amount of damage in a short time when weaving your 2 skills between regular attacks. The spear allows a chance at melee combat as the longbow’s long draw time makes you vulnerable if they get too close.
Tips
- Position yourself with your longbow in mind. This means holding long sight ranges. Hold your abilities against melee players until you have shots lined up.
- Against other rangers you should aim to throw more arrows at them than they do you.
